The beach of Agios Stefanos is located two kilometers north of town to the west. Agios Stefanos and neighboring Tourlos are the two closest beaches to Mykonos Town and attract a large number of tourist in the summer. Both have been developed for tourism, with bungalows and other facilities on site. There are also many hotels that offer accommodation, while on the beach there is a great variety of restaurants and cafes to keep anyone satisfied. The beach of Agios Stefanos can be reached via taxi, private vehicle or regular bus service from town.

Agios Stefanos & Vourvoulakas

Slightly  further north is Vourvoulakas, whose name is a corruption for the Greek word vrikolakas. The site is linked to an 18th century folk tale about the island’s haunting by a rather ornery local.
